I used DMC embroidery cotton thread No. 310. - Crochet hook: 2 mm (B/1- US, 14- UK), 2,5 mm (C/2 – US, 12 – UK).
- A piece of carton or dense plastic to make the bottoms of the dolls sturdy and steady.
- Chopstick (or any other wooden stick with a blunt end) – for the stuffing of the toy.
- Washable polyester filling for the stuffing of the toy.
- Yarn needle – a long needle for assembling of the toy.
If you use the materials as advised above the final size of the toys is going to be 12 сm (5″).

Cut off the yarn. Tie the tails of the yarn of the
beginning and of the end of the detail and fix them

The Plank for the Fur Coat
Use a 2 mm crochet hook and off white colored yarn.
Ch 13 and work starting from the 2 nd st from the hook
around the foundation chain:
R 1: 11 sc, 4 sc in one st, 11sc, turn the work (26)
R 2: 1 ch, 11 sc, 4 inc, 11 sc (30)
Fix and cut off the yarn.
Hair
Use a 2 mm crochet hook and off white colored yarn.
Ch 6 and work starting from the 2 nd st from the hook:

R 2-23: 1ch, 5 sc into the back loop of the stitch, turn the work.
Cut off the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.
Note: I crocheted a detail 23 rows long and depending on the thickness of your yarn and the tightness
of your crocheting, you might crochet more or less rows. Measure the detail against the head of the toy
while you are crocheting to make the size right.
Assembling of the toy
Fix the arms with sewing pins to the
33rd row (under the collar).
Attach the arms at the upper end taking
in turns the stitches of the arms and of
the body, then raise the arms and make
several stitches to attach the inner side
of the arms – see photos
Fix the plank to the coat in the center of the front
with the help of the sewing pins and attach it with
small stitches around the contour of the plank.
Attach the beard to the 38th row
(this is the 5th row of the head
that is crocheted with the skin
colored yarn). Sew the beard on
taking in turns the stitches of the
beard and those of the head. Use
thin sewing thread so that the
seams do not show
Fix the moustache so that the upper part of it is one
row above the beard. Use thin sewing thread so that
the seams do not show. Sew the moustache on in
the center and then attach it following the upper
line leaving one stitch at each end unattached. Sew
the moustache on with the help of the backstitch
taking one single crochet at a time. You can leave
the bottom line of the moustache unattached.
Add some filling to the nose detail.
Attach the nose on top of the
moustache. The upper line of the
nose should be one row above the
mustache. Use thin sewing thread so
that the seams do not show.
Sew or glue the eyes on one row
above the nose at a three single
crochet distance from one another.
Use the off-white colored yarn
for the eyebrows. Make two
stitches for each eyebrow taking
two single crochets at a time.
Attach the hair to the head using sewing pins and then sew it on with the help of the backstitch taking
two single crochets at a time. Look at the photos below.
Sew two small black buttons onto the plank or
make two French stitches with some black yarn.
Put some blush onto Santa’s cheeks and nose
Hat
Begin with the red colored yarn. Use 2,5 mm hook.
Work in joined rounds.

Prepare 42 pcs of yarn 6 cm (2 1/2″) long. Fold one piece in half and with the help of the hook pull it
through one stitch of the last row. Then thread the tails of the yarn into the formed loop and pull it
tight. Attach the yarn pieces in this way into every stitch of the last row of the wig (See photos).
Assembling of the toy
Fix the arms with sewing pins to the 31st row of the body.
Attach the arms at the upper end taking in turns the stitches of the arms and of the body, then raise the
arms and make several stitches to attach the inner side of the arms – see photos.
Add some filling to the nose
detail. Attach the nose
between the 6th and 7th rows
of the head crocheted with the
skin colored yarn. Sew the
nose on using thin sewing
thread so that the seams do not
show.
Glue or sew the eyes on one row up
from the nose. You could also embroider
the eyes with a black embroidery thread
using cross-stitch French knot.
The distance between the eyes should be
about 3 sc.
Embroider the mouth and brows as
shown in the photos.
Embroider the “buttons” and “buckle” with sime
yellow yarn Double the stitches so that they seem
thicker.
Fix the wig to the head with the help of the sewing pins and then sew it on with small sewing stitches
following the edges of the wig.
Then cut evenly the bang and the hair around. Put some blush onto elf’s nose and cheeks.
The Hat
Begin with the red colored yarn. Use 2,5 mm hook.

Assembling of the Toy
Fix the arms with sewing pins to the
32nd row of the body.
Attach the arms at the upper end taking
in turns the stitches of the arms and of
the body, then raise the arms and make
several stitches to attach the inner side
of the arms – see photos.
Count down 9 rows from the top of the head and
attach the muzzle with the help of the sewing pins.
Sew it on with the help of small backstitches
using thin sewing thread.
Attach the nose in the upper part of
the muzzle as shown in the photos.
Sew it on around using a thin sewing
thread. As you are sewing it on
please stuff the nose with some
filling
Count 5 rows from the muzzle
up and above the 5th row attach
and then sew the antlers on
(see photo).
Attach and then sew on
the ears two rows below
the antlers.
Glue or sew the eyes on one row up from the muzzle 2 sc apart. Embroider the brows as shown in the
photos.
Mark the mouth line with some sewing pins and then embroider it following the line with the help of
the backstitch.
Put some blusher on the cheeks
Scarf
Use a 2,5 mm crochet hook and green colored yarn.
Ch 63 and work starting from 2nd st from the hook:
R 1-3: 62 sc, 1 ch, turn the work
Cut off and fix the yarn.
Take a long piece of red yarn and make two decorative seams along the scarf inserting the needle every
two single crochets apart.
Pompom (2 pieces)
Use the 2 mm crochet hook and red
colored yarn.
Stuff the detail in the process but
not too tightly – it should be soft.
