first day of school, she chose a hot pink
ruffled skirt and a matching beret. She
added a saffron colored scarf to keep her
cozy and warm on this nippy fall day!

SNOUT
use white sport weight yarn and D hook
Row 1 Chain 11
Row 2 sc across [10]
Row 3 turn and 9sc, 2sc into last st [11]
Now put a stitch marker into the last st (#11) and this is now Stitch #1 as
you continue in the round. (There should be 23 stitches in this first round)
Rnd 1 inc(2sc) into stitches 2,11,13,23 [27]
Rnd 2 inc into stitches 3,13,16,27 [31]
Rnd 3 sc around [31]
Rnd 4 inc into stitches 4,15,20,31 [35]
Fasten off and leave a tail for attaching to head.
After crocheting the snout, thread your dark brown yarn onto your
needle and starting from the back, sew a small brown nose. Please
view the picture above to get an idea of proper placement and size of
the nose. Next, position your eye circles and snout and pin them in
place. Experiment with the placement of the eyes. Once you are
satisfied with it all, go ahead and sew the eye circles on first, and then
the snout. The snout will overlap the eye circles. Stuff the snout with
a bit of filling before you sew it closed.
EAR
use beige yarn and G hook
Rnd 1 6 stitches into magic ring
Rnd 2 2sc into each stitch
Rnd 3 (sc, 2sc into next st) repeat around [18]

Fasten off
After crocheting the ear, take your
tapestry needle and sew the opening of
the ear closed. There is no need to
stuff it. You will be attaching the ear
with the sewn opening facing out, as in
the picture on the previous page.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for attaching to body. When attaching, make sure the seam is in the back.

ARMS – make two
use beige yarn and G hook

SCARF
use mustard yarn and G hook
Row 1 Chain 88
Row 2 Half double crochet across
Fasten off and weave in ends neatly.
Using a pair of sharp scissors, cut out a small heart
from your red felt. Center the heart on front of the
body and glue into place.
You are almost finished! There are just a few more steps of assembly! By now, you have
attached the eye circles, snout, and ears. Make sure you affix the backings onto the safety
eyes! Sew the head onto the body. Next, attach the arms and legs. Then, attach the skirt.
Then the tail. Flatten out the tail and give it a curl at the end. It should hold itʼs shape all by
itself. Glue the heart, tie the scarf, add the beret and you are done!! Yay! Donʼt forget to send
