Materials and tools:

  1. Yarn in light grey (for the body), dark pink (for the cheeks), yellow (for the boots), blue and pink (for the body and the dress), matching crochet hook – I used Jeans by YarnArt (55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 160m/50g).
  2. Any stuffing.
  3. Scissors, tapestry needle
  4. Black sewing thread to embroider the eyes, ribbon
  5. Ready-made eyes – I used 8 mm.

Abbreviations:
sc – single crochet
ch – chain
inc – increase: 2 sc in one st
dec – decrease: 2 sc together
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
*The toy is approximately 20 cm tall using the materials mentioned above.

Rnd 29: work 3-dc cluster stitch to end
How to make a 3-dc cluster:
Make 3 half-closed double crochets in one stitch. You will end with four loops on the hook. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all four loops on the hook.
One 3-dc cluster is complete. A half-closed stitch is one that’s only worked partway, and then �inished at the end of the combination.

Legs
Rnd 1: with pink yarn 6 sc in magic ring = 6 sts Rnd 2: 6 inc =12 sts
Rnd 3: (1 inc, 1 sc) x 6 =18 sts
Change to yellow yarn. Work Rnds 4 and 14 into the back loops only.
Rnd 4: 8 sc, 1 dec, 8 sc = 17 sts
Rnd 5: 7 sc, 1 dec, 8 sc = 16 sts
Rnd 6: 7 sc, 1 dec, 7 sc = 15 sts
Rnd 7: 6 sc, 1 dec, 7 sc = 14 sts
Rnd 8: 6 sc, 1 dec, 6 sc = 13 sts
Rnd 9: 5 sc, 1 dec, 6 sc = 12 sts
Rnd 10: 5 sc, 1 dec, 5 sc = 11 sts

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Arms

Rnds 3-5: 12 sc
Rnd 6: 1 dec, 10 sc = 11 sts
Rnd 7: 1 dec, 9 sc = 10 sts

Flatten the piece and close by working 3 sc through the opposite sides.
Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembling

  1. Finish the face.
  • needle sculpt the eyes and the mouth as follows: Secure thread at the mouth area (approximately Rnd 7 of the head). Insert the needle and exit at the right eye socket. Go to the left eye socket. Go back to the mouth and secure.

  • sew the cheeks between Rnds 9 and 12
  • embroider the eyebrows and eyelashes
  • Sew the ears on the level of Rnd 18.

Use pictures as a guide. Sew the legs.
Sew the arms and tie the ribbon onto the head.
