Today, the new daily crochet pattern Amigurumi, Blue Flower Free Crochet Pattern , I want to give you some information about this pattern;

Materials

  • 2 meters blue yarn (or any yarn from your stash) per flower I would recommend making 10 -20 flowers per stem
  • Matching crochet hook to your yarn
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • 20cm florist wire per flower
  • Cutting pliers

Gauge: N/A. Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your choosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your petals keep the form & not flop.

Size: I doubled my lace yarn & used a 2.2mm crochet hook to make 2.5cm flowers & 14cm long leaves.

Notes: The flowers are worked in the round. I would recommend making 10-20 flowers to make a full stem. Then the leaves will be made individually. Once all the parts have been made the flower stem will be made first then the leaves placed around the stem.

How to make a Crochet Hydrangea

Row 1: Make a magic circle, ch 3, 4dc into the centre of the magic circle,

Row 1 - Moara Crochet

sl st into the first dc NOT THE CH3. Total: 5 stitches.

Row 2: Ch3 (count as a dc),

dc puff stitch in the same stitch, ch3, sl st into the same stitch, *(sl st into the next st, ch3, dc puff stitch, ch3, sl st into the same stitch)* repeat * 3 times. Fasten off & weave in your ends. Total 5petals.

Stem

Step 1: Cut a piece of florist wire 20cm long, insert wire in and out of row 1 (as shown on the photo below), twist wire behind the flower to keep firm.

Flower Assembly

Once you have made your required number of crochet flowers arrange the wires together to create a flower bunch. To make my flat brooch I made 10 flowers. A few centimeters below the flowers arrange the leaves around the central stem & fasten them in place. I also covered my wires with the same yarn I used for the crochet leaves.
